LinkedIn Family Day: Photo Frames Made by Parents and Kids Together

Family days bring a different energy to an office: kids exploring and parents showing them around. For a family day at LinkedIn, we ran an activity that every age could do together: decorating photo frames.

What we ran

Tables were set up with frames, paints, coloured paper strips and sticks. Families sat together and decorated a frame each, or one frame as a team. A few people turned theirs into LinkedIn-themed frames, which made for some great photos.

Why frames work for family days

  • Every age can join. Young kids stick and paint; teens and adults go for detail.
  • Families do it together, rather than parents watching from the side.
  • The keepsake has a job. It holds the family photo from the day.
  • It works as a drop-in, so families can come and go between other activities.

Tips if you are planning a family day

  • Pick activities with short, clear steps so younger children stay engaged.
  • Set up a photo spot near the art tables for people to show off what they made.
  • Plan a second station, such as fluid bears or clay, for kids who finish early.

How a Qreative session runs

  • Zero prep for HR: our team arrives before yours, sets up every table and cleans up afterwards.
  • An artist leads: every step is demonstrated, so nobody needs to have painted before.
  • Everything included: materials, aprons and set-up.
  • Everyone takes their piece home.
  • Easy paperwork: a GST invoice for every booking, MSME compliant, one point of contact.

Bring it to your team

We can run one station or several across your family day, for employees and their families.

Details in this story come from the session itself and our photos from the day.
