Hearts and Sunflowers on Fabric: A Craft Session with Thornton Tomasetti

Most office workshops involve paint. For the Thornton Tomasetti team, we brought something more tactile: a textile craft session where people made soft, raised designs on fabric.
What we ran
Each person started by tracing a design onto fabric: a heart or a sunflower. Then they filled it in, building up a soft, raised texture in pink, red and yellow. Our artist demonstrated each step at the desks and helped people with technique.
Why textile crafts are a nice change
- It’s meditative. The repetitive rhythm is calming, which makes it great for wellness weeks.
- It suits the desk. It needs little space, so teams can do it right where they work.
- The texture surprises people. Turning a flat outline into something soft and raised is very satisfying.
The finish
The session ended with a group photo, everyone holding up their hearts and sunflowers, made right at their desks in one sitting.
How a Qreative session runs
- Zero prep for HR: our team arrives before yours, sets up every table and cleans up afterwards.
- An artist leads: every step is demonstrated, so nobody needs to have painted before.
- Everything included: materials, aprons and set-up.
- Everyone takes their piece home.
- Easy paperwork: a GST invoice for every booking, MSME compliant, one point of contact.
